Rules on Publication Ethics and Best Practices of the Journal

RESPECT FOR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS (COPYRIGHT COMPLIANCE)

The Editorial Board of the journal Studii și Cercetări Juridice (Legal Studies and Research) pays special attention to observing the fundamental rules concerning the protection of intellectual property rights. This is done both to protect our authors from malpractice involving copyright infringement and to safeguard non-contributing researchers against violations of their intellectual property rights.

At the same time, authors may not use our journal to publish material that is contrary to the law or that violates or infringes upon the rights of other individuals. Authors submitting manuscripts for publication must understand that by submitting an article, they implicitly declare that the article has not been previously published in another academic journal and has not been simultaneously submitted elsewhere for consideration.

If a portion of the article has been published before, the author is required to disclose this fact to the editorial office. Manuscripts that are substantially revised and updated versions of previously published works may be considered for publication only if the earlier version is clearly acknowledged and cited in the text. In such cases, the author may use the previous version only with the express permission of the publisher who originally released it.

UNACCEPTABILITY OF PLAGIARISM AND DATA FABRICATION

Contributors are requested not to submit manuscripts that include, in whole or in part, text that belongs to other authors without proper acknowledgment, or that use, in any form, text or data from other scientific publications without appropriate citation.

The identification of plagiarized passages in a submitted manuscript will automatically disqualify it from consideration. Authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy of the data and information used in their manuscripts. The fabrication or falsification of data disqualifies the manuscript, and the editorial board will decline any future collaboration with authors whose manuscripts have been previously and justifiably rejected on grounds of plagiarism, data fabrication, or other forms of unethical conduct.

ISSUES REGARDING DISCRIMINATION

All contributors to the journal must be aware that Studii și Cercetări Juridice opposes any form of discrimination based on sex, age, race, nationality, religious beliefs, or similar criteria. Therefore, we refuse to publish any material that promotes or contains such discriminatory elements.

APPROPRIATE REFERENCES

The Editorial Board believes that the statement of ethical norms must be accompanied by best publication practices, even regarding issues that do not directly affect ethical standards but concern the quality of manuscript preparation and publication.

We emphasize the importance of providing full and accurate references for all sources used, so that readers may identify and consult the original materials if they wish. The reference format used by Studii și Cercetări Juridice is consistent with standard international academic practices — for instance, the formats used in journals published by the University of Chicago Press or comparable academic publishers.

AUTHOR RESPONSIBILITY

Studii și Cercetări Juridice assumes that contributing authors bear full responsibility for the statements and conclusions arising from their research findings and analyses. Authors must ensure that they inform the editorial office of any actual or potential conflict of interest that may be related to the article submitted for publication.

This includes, but is not limited to, situations in which an author seeks to represent the interests of a political party, private or public company, or an interest group. In such cases, the editorial board and/or the journal’s reviewers reserve the right to require the author to disclose their affiliation within the article itself.
