Abstract

Generally invoking fundamental human rights, and especially those related to the environment, is becoming a major instrument for promoting protection against pollution, preserving biodiversity, and an instrument of the international, regional, and national recognition and legal guarantee of a sane and ecologically balanced environment, and its climatic aspects. Amongst the most recent efforts of this kind, we can name two resolutions of the UN Human Rights Council of October 8th, 2021, one related to the right to a safe, clean, sane, and sustainable environment, the other to install a special rapporteur on the impact of climate change on human rights, the draft project of a protocol related to the right to environment additional to the European Convention on Human Rights, and a project for ecological and societal justice.
