The rise of platform work, freelancing, and the gig economy challenges the traditional contributory model, raising concerns about the sustainability and fairness of social protection. Risks of social exclusion, and the potential of technology to streamline benefit administration raise legislative dilemmas. A comparative analysis of selected European models suggests reform pathways aimed at enhancing the adaptability and resilience of social insurance systems in the digital age.
